This communication comprises the different points set out below: Choice of a test method, choice of pathogenic strain, choice of method of inoculation, choice of criteria for assessing susceptibility. First results obtained; provisional classification of cocoa stands in Cameroon in increasing order of susceptibility. Contribution to the study of resistance factors: results of biochemical analyses of the bark of several stands in relation to their degree of susceptibility demonstrated by experimental inoculation. Contribution to the study of transmissibility of resistance factors by the individual study of several families of hybrids
