Essais in insectarium d'insecticides systemiques contre les chenilles d'Earias biplaga (Wlk.) et les cochenilles blanches: Pseudococcus sp.

Preliminary insectary trials showed that on young plants of six months old, the systemic phosphoric-esters, such as Azodrin 60 and Bidrin 25 diluted to 1/4 and 1/8 respectively of the commercial concentration and painted on seedlings, ensure effective control of the larvae of Earias biplaga (Wlk) for 60 and 30 days respectively. Bidrin 25 had a mortality efficiency of between 75 and 100 percent. The residual effect of Formothion 40 and Perfecktion 40 (dimethoate) lasts for only 20 days after the first application. On mealybugs (Pseudococcus sp.) the effect of Cyolane 25 was very comparable with that of Azodrin 60. A mortality rate of 90 more or less 5 percent was obtained after three days for the two systemics
