Historical account of cocoa diseases in Uganda and field observations and experimentations on three cocoa diseases

This paper is essentially a historical record of cocoa diseases in Uganda. It gives all the disease-causing organisms that have ever been reported parasitising cocoa since it introduction in this country in 1901. It also gives the attempted measures for the control of some of the diseases. In this paper, attempts have been made to explain why some of the early workers failed were they did, e.g. attribution of Botryodiplodia to die back
