Etude de la fertilization minérale des cacaoyers en Cote d'Ivoire a partir du diagnostic sol

As a result of pedological studies made on demonstration plots at different places, we have found that be balance between the elements is of more importance than their actual level. We have found: - (i) a balance between exchangeable bases, nitrogen and pH. There is a linear relation between exchangeable bases and nitrogen for a given pH. (ii) a balance between exchangeable bases (K - Ca - Mg). This balance is expressed as a percentage of total exchangeable bases and the optimum ratio is approximately 8 percent K, 68 percent Ca, 24 percent Mg. (iii) a balance between nitrogen and phosphorus. A pod test has shown that the optimum ratio N/P is 2
