Note on the determination of organic phosphorus in some cocoa cultivated soils of Ghana

Results of the "ignition" and "extraction" methods for estimating organic P in cocoa growing soils of Ghana are reported for 20 soil samples. There were no significant differences between the ignition methods and the extraction methods using HC1/NaOH as extractants. Na2 EDTA/NaOH extraction method gave the lowest values for almost all the samples. The ignition method at 550 centigrade grade is selected for routine analysis of cocoa growing soils
