Distribución de materia seca en el frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) bajo condiciones de campo

This research was undertaken to determine the effect of plant density on the distribution of dry weight in the aboveground of four bean varieties (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The varieties Zacatecas 21-1-21, illichoacdn 12A-3, y 18-X- Chapingo 72 (all with undeterminate growth habit), and Cacahuate 72 (with determinate growth habit) were planted at 8900 plants/hectare and 100 000 plants/hectare. Seven physiological stages were chosen for determining dry weight matter of aboveground pans. It was found that the percentage distribution of dry weight matter in the aerial organs of these varieties was not affected notoriously by either density. However, the total dry weight of aboveground parts was significantly different (P ≤0.01) when the varieties Zacatecas, Michoaain, Chapingo were planted at 8900 plantslhectare than when they were planted at 100 000 plantslhectare.
