The importance of crucifers and their pests is given, with emphasis on the lepidopterous pests found in Venezuela Ascia monuste L , Plutella xilostella L and Pieris aripa Boisduval. Descriptions of the different stages (egg to adult) of P. aripa are given with data on dimensions such as head width and body length of the larvae. The life cycle is described in terms of days for each stage Observations are given on behaviour and natural enemies.
