Formacao de ácidos orgánicos, acúcares e lipídeos a partir de acetato C em folhas de cafeeiro

The acetate 14C metabolism was studied in detached coffee leaves (Coffea arabica L. cv. 'Mundo Novo'). The leaves were incubated in 10 pCi of acetato-1-C and 10 uCi of acetato-12-25C out of Inminosity Incubation was interrupted adding HCI after 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 minutes. One insoluble fraction and one soluble (80% ethanol) fraction were obtained. Ion exhange cromatography separated she sugar from the organic acids fraction. Coffee detached leaves used acelafe-14C 10 shymtbesize organic acids, sugar and lipids. The high activity in organic acid and CO2, indicated that acetate was used via the Krebs cycle.
