Composicao florística de uma mata secundaria no planalto de Belterra no Pará

The study deals with the composition of a 132 ha area of a secondary forest in the region of Tapajós. The forest is composed of 103 species from 40 families, with a average of nine plants per species; the families Bignoniaceae, Combretaceae, Melastomataceae and Myrtaceae present more plants than the others; some species are ecologically important because they occur in all phytosociological classes; and there are 18 species that are marketable in Brazil and five of them are marketable in the external market.
