Estimativas volumétricas por unidade de area em florestas naturais

This research had objective to test a series of regression models to estimate volume per hectare as a function of arithmetic mean dbh, mean height, basal area and number of trees per hectare. The models were applied for all species and for only the economically importance species, and separately for the two forestry types forests of low lands and forests of up lands. The data came from 70 sampling units in low land forests and 406 sampling units in up land forests, located in the humid tropical forests of the Amazonic region in the countries of Tefé and Juruá. The dimensions of every sampling units was 10 x 250 meters. The mathematical model log V = logb0 + b1 log G2-h presented the best fit for both forest types and for both group of species. The standard error of estimates-Sxy was allways below 5 percent and the coeficient of determination - R2 was allways above 0,98 for this regression model for all strata.
