The objectives of the present research were to study the composition and the structure of a Tropical rain forest to obtain elementary basic support to decisions making to work out a forestry management plan. The data came from an area of approximately one million hectares located in the tropical humid forest of the Amazonic region in the countries of Tefé and Juruá. It were measured 476 sampling plots of 10 x 250 meters covering 119 sampled hectares in the total. The structural analysis showed a large floristic complexity of this forest. This analysis was used to classify hierarchically the most important species, independently of their economic importance.
