Floristica e fitossociologia do estrato arbóreo de um trecho da serra da Cantareira (núcleo Pinheirinho)-SP

Using the point center quarter method, it was sampling 266 points, 15 m distant each one on the "Parque Estadual da Cantareira", Pinheirinho Area. This area is covered with vegetation from the dense ombrophylous type, with plants from the Atlantic forest and from the mesophytic forest, characteristic of the inland areas. In the 1064 sampled plants were found 978 (91,92 per cent) living trees and 86 (8,08 per cent) dead but existing ones. The living trees are distributed in 141 species (one indetermined), 93 genera (7 of them belonging to the Myrtaceae family but still without identification) and 45 families (one unknown). The Shannon & Wiever diversity index was 4,63. The index of rare species was 26,9 per cent (38 species were represented in the sampling by only one tree per specie). The most important families found in the area were Euphorbiaceae, Lauraceae, Myrtaceae, Meliaceae, Sapotaceae and Rubiaceae summing 57,13 per cent of the existing trees and 48,6 per cent of the number of existing species. The biggest trees were Euplassa cantareirae, Qualea glaziovii, Slonea monosperma, Cariniana estrellensis, Copaifera trapeziloria and Ocotea catharinensis.
