Composicao florística e fitossociologia do componente arbóreo das florestas ciliares da bacia do rio Tibagi, Paraná: 2. Varzea do rio Bitumirim, Municipio de Ipiranga, PR

The floristic composition and phytosociological structure of 1 hectare area of gallery forest at Bitumirim river, municipality of Ipiranga, State of Parana (51°S, 50° 30"W - Tibagi river basin) were analysed. There were used 100 contiguous quadrats sampling of 10 x 10 m where trees with DBH of 5 cm or more were included. Frequency, density and dominance parameters were obtained for each species. 42 species of 36 genera and 20 families were registered. Actinostemon concolar, Sebastiania commersoniana, Faramea porophylla; Myrciaria tenella and Luehea divaricata were among the most important species. The families that showed the greatest number of individuals were Euphorbiaceae (867) and Myrtaceae (243), the later with the greatest number of species (13). It was found a low index of specific diversity (H' - 0.89) which can be understood by the extreme conditions of the area such as the long periods of flood during the rainy season.
