O manejo florestal; instrumento para o uso multiplo da floresta amazónica
The present work encompasses the Forest Management Concept and the main items to be considered for an appropriate Management Plan for the Amazon Forests. Considering basically the characteristics of the Tropical Rain Forests, special aspects should not be neglected, as the management techniques to be applied in the Amazon are much more complicated than in other forest regions. These techniques should consider the multiple use of the forest, its ecological balance and its strong species variation. The main problem is to adequate the forest production to a rational logging operation and preservation of the environmental characteristics. The conclusions and recommendations give a basis for maximization of forest production, but considering also minimization of ecological disturbances.
