Tropical home gardens and living fences: two successful ecotechnologies with world diffusion potential

Two promising land use practices are described as to their influence in improving rural conditions: tropical home gardens, known throughout the tropics but with many variations and living fences to attach barbed wire, presently most common found in Northern tropical America. the benefits and constrainsts encountered for the diffusion of these practices are analyzed and suggestions made as to research and training aspects allowing the greatest multiplying effects.
