Evaluación inicial del sistema maíz-maíz en un cultivo en callejones con cuatro leguminosas arboreas

The species Erythrina fusca, Gliricidia spium, Calliandra calothyrsus and Erythrina berteroana are being evaluated in Guápiles, Costa Rica, in a corn-corn system. After three corn harvests, analyzed, the results indicate that grain production of corn associated with E. fusca and G. sepium is the same as the monoculture (P<0,05) in spite that it had 7 por ciento more corn population. Biomass production was the same in E. fusca and C. calothyrsus and both were superior to the other species (P<0,05).
