Honduras women make a start in agroforestry

Women were involved by COHDEFOR (Honduras Forestry Development Corporation) in construction of terraces and reforestation following extensive damage by Hurricane Fiji in Sierra de Omoa in 1974. Although the project was not aimed primarily at women, they proved more receptive to new ideas. Their success led to wider community participation in the project.
