Note preliminaire sur la sensibilité d'Amblyomma variegatum et Boophilus decoloratus (Acarida, Ixodidae) aux acaricides organophosphorés en Republique Populaire du Congo

From 1982 up to 1984, observations on the level of susceptibility of Amblyomma variegatum and Boophilus decoloratus met in 2 bovine stations, show that ticks from the Bovine Experimental Center (C.E.B.) are less susceptible to tested organo-phosphate acaricides than ticks from the Massangui ranch. Calculation of drug resistance level to LD 50, although still moderate, reveals a real threat for the near future. New experiments are thus necessary for a better understanding of these discrepancies, with a view to formulating an alternative strategy to the present fighting techniques
