Implementación del sistema CATIE para la producción de leche

The production model used was that developed at CATIE. The Project started with the selection of suitable areas in Costa Rica on the basis of their potential for milk production. In order that programmes of this kind may be successful, it is essential that research centres should develop complete production systems and test them in the field. They should also help in the training of the personnel involved in the field development projects. The projects should coordinate credit and marketing aspects. The first farms to participate should be used for demonstration purposes, to help stimulate interest of other farmers in the system. Any necessary modifications to the general production system should be made at this stage
