Enquiry into the role of minerals in experimental urolithiasis in goats

Feeding trials to determine in quantitative terms the role of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium and their interrelationship in inducing urinary calculi in cross-bred Malabari goats were carried out, choosing the blood, urine and faecal concentrations of these elements and the histological pattern of the urinary organs of the animals as the criteria. Growth response and concentrations of the formed elements of blood were also evaluated periodically in order to assess the nutritional status of the experimental animals
