With few exceptions, the skins are by-products of slaughter of animals for meat. However, skins are very valuable by-products deserving careful attention, since they may represented up to 30 percent of the value of a goat. Skin defects and marketing are two most important problems to be dealt with. Information on biology of the skin, qualities and uses of goats skins, processing, classification and international trade is included
