Possible effects of factors like genetic group of kids, age of the kids, season of birth, season of the year, litter size at birth, birth weight and bucks which sired the kids on the magnitude of mortality among Malabari and crossbred (Saanen x Malabari and Alpine x Malabari) kids up to three months of age were investigated. The magnitude of mortality among kids, up to 3 months of age, ranged from 8.44 percent to 58.27 percent with a mean of 25.00 percent. The most critical period in the life of kids appeared to be from birth to 15 days of age. The magnitude of mortality showed a declining trend as the age advanced. Genetic group of kids, sex of the kids, litter size at birth, birth weight and bucks which sired the kids were found to have not exerted any significant effect on the magnitude of mortality among kids. Probably, with better care and management the magnitude of mortality among kids can be reduced to a reasonable extent
