A simulation model of the epidemiology of rinderpest

A simulation model has been developed as an aid to research in the epidemiology of rinderpest in cattle and other species. The Markov Chain state-transition structure, modified to allow a stochastic element is used as the basis of calculations. The model has been used to investigate the determinants of the survival of rinderpest in cattle and game populations, and the effect of different vaccination policies in cattle populations
