Ocorrencia do nematóide do coqueiro no litoral paulista

The red ring nematode, Rhadinaphelenchus cocophilus (Cobb, 1919) J.B. Goodey 1960 was found parasitising coconut palms of Ilha Bela. The plants showed typical symptoms like yellowishing leaves, hang down of leaves, some of them breaking across the petiole and the red brownning ring in the stem. The authors suggest sanitary measures like insect vector control, destruction of plants with symptoms and nurseries of coconut palms with the nematode
