Les viroses de la patate douce (Ipomoea batatas) en Cote d'Ivoire

Like most of the plants which are vegetatively propagated sweet potato is very often found diseased in the course of phytosanitary prospections. Two virus diseases have been identified in different areas of Ivory Coast. Both can be aphid-transmitted, in addition to their propagation with planting material. The first disease is induced by a paraspherical virus identified as a strain of Cucumber Mosaic Virus. The second one is induced by a thread-like potyvirus, the sweet potato feathery mottle virus. Studies are in course on both viruses
