Field use of a Farm Animal Health Resource Management System (FAHRMX)

For 3 years, it was used the Farm Animal Health Resource Management System (FAHRMX), developed by Michigan State University, at Grandy Farm in St. Johns, Michigan, as a herd management and health record system. The program is used for daily herd management, forward management planning, herd health, herd evaluation, and goal setting. All daily events involving individual cows are recorded on a single data sheet. FAHRMX technicians enter the written data into the computer program once a week and generate weekly management and bi-weekly herd health reports. Summaries of herd reproductive performance and health disorders are printed on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. For dairy farmers, the FAHRMX herd management system is both easy to use and comprehensive in reporting management information
