Identification and taxonomy of Brucella melitensis by the factorial analysis of the correspondences and the automatic classification

The strains came from the collection of the FAO/WHO Brucellosis Reference Center and the Brucella Reference National Center. It concerns the 113 strains of Brucella (melitensis, abortus, suis, ovis) marked by 50 parameters. We enriched the identification criteria by the application of some new tests such as: the study of sensitivity to antibiotics; the research of enzymatic composition; the study of the degradation of the substrates by the manometric techniques; and the study of the sensitivity to the different bacteriophages. The factorial analysis of correspondence (FAC) and the method of the dynamic clouds enables us to identify and characterize the species B. melitensis. The informative work was done at the Inter-University Center Treatment of Information at Montpellier, France
