Indice de enfermedades en plantas de Venezuela y Cuba
This survey comprises more than 3.900 plant diseases from Venezuela and Cuba; 2.076 from Cuba and 1.836 from Venezuela, in 665 and 563 host plants respectively; 396 of the diseases are common to the same host in both countries. The survey was carried out in a period of 11 years. (up to 1976). More than 100 fungi and/or diseases are undescribed. The author acknowledgedall the workers that make identifications; to Acuña Gale, AES, Santiago de las Vegas, for identifications of unknown hosts from Cuba; Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; England, for identifications of basidiomicetes of both countries and some unknown hosts from Venezuela; Jardin Botanico de Caracas, for identifications of some unknown host from Venezuela; Siddigi of Commonwealth Bureau of Helminthology, Hearts, England, for identifications of nematodes from Venezuela- exception some root nots- and specially to Deighton, Perozynski, Ellis, Mordue, Punithalingam, Sutton, Morgan- Jones, Sivanesan, Mulder, and others workers of Commonwealth Mycological Institute, Kew, England, for identifications of nearly all the fungi from both countries. Leaf gall, virus, mineral deficiencies, physiological disorders, some root nematodes, and some fungi and/or diseases were identified by author. Several samples of plant diseases were unidentifiable because reach Kew in poor condition. However, this work is the most complete survey of plant diseases from both countries
