A study of some quality aspects of crude palm oil. Interrelationships of quality characteristics of fresh crude palm oil and a proposed method for oil classification
Previous studies pertaining to survey of crude palm oil from Zaire and Malaysia with wide ranging qualities had attempted to understand the complexities underlying crude palm oil qualities and its deterioration using simple correlation and multiple regression analyses. The present study investigates the interrelationships of the very same parameters of quality from fresh crude palm oil. Results of simple correlation analysis on oil samples obtained at production and at despatch were very similar to those of earlier studies. A multivariate statistical method known as Fisher's Discriminant Function was proposed in an attempt to classify fresh oil samples into two quality groups
