This document explains about the effects of Black Sigatoka in the Caribbean: 1) reduces yield and quality of banana and plantain; 2) reduces individual farm family and foreign incomes, as well gross national product exporting countries; 3) threatens the availability food of domestic carbohhydrate food source and livelihood of rural population; 4) Diversion of exports fruit and chemical inputs for disease control from export industry to the local market; 5) increased migration of people from rural to urban areas and poverty
