Identificacao de fitonematoides por métodos moleculares

Using resistant soybean varieties against specific H. glycines races is one of the most efficient methods to reduce losses in infested areas. The precise identification of the occurring races in the field is fundamental for the selection of the variety to be cultivated. Morphology is an important component of classification of phyto-nematodes and in many cases can provide a rapid and precise identification . Identification is possible using tests indifferential hosts, by enzymatic patterns and more recently, by the direct analysis of genetic material. DNA analysis is a fast abd highly sensitive process. It is not subject to phenotypic variations and to environment influence on the parasite's development stage. Molecular techniques using polymorphic fragments (RLP), obtained with DNA digestion by enzymes PCR and RAPD reactions, are being utilized internationally in the routine identification of phyto-nematodes of economic importance.
