Productive land use systems project, Haiti

This is an agro-forestry project funded by USAID and implemented by some NGOs such as PADF, CARE and SECID/Auburn University. It seeks to maximize the productive potential of the mountaneous lands while dealing with soil conservation and water management. More than 20 species of fruit trees are used in this project. Activities of extension and training are also part of the project. Several constraints hamper its development; they are related to the complexity of the situation of this country in its economic, social, politic and cultural aspects. (MIBA)
