The desert locust situation in Montserrat
The paper makes reference to reports that the locusts (Schistocerca gregaria) were first seen in Montserrat on October 15, 1988. In order to control the insects a pyrethroid insecticide (karate) was first used an organochloride (Diazanon). No further action was taken and during that period the public was kept informed of developments as information became available. (MIBA)
