The paper presents general data about Martinique. Most of the resources of Martinique come from tourism, commerce and agriculture. Agricultural exports represent 60 to 65 percent of total exports. Continuously, it presents the beekeeping industry and the principal honey-making plants: (Haematoxylom campechianum); (Acacia tortuosa); (Homalium racemosum); (Croton flavens); (Gliricidia sepium); (Persea americana); (Laguncularia racemosa); (Mangifera indica); (Citharexylum fruticosum). Then, it presents the average cost of production, exportation and importation of honey. The papers highlights that the support from public sector institutions is very important for the development of the beekeeping industry. Principal support activites include technical instruction, subsidies and sanitary control of products. The National Office is allowing the installation of beehives in new areas, like mangroves.
