Meeting the needs of the organic food market place

The document notes the integrity of organic food must be maintained through each step of the production and marketing of organic produce. From the preparation of the seedbed to the sale of the harvested produce in the retail market, each phase of the production and marketing process must maintain standards and practices established by the OCIA for similar certifying body. Pre and postharvest handling are important aspects of the production and marketing process because these practices have important effects on the quality of produce to be sold. (MIBA)
