Acaricides and Boophilus spp resistance in South Africa

The objective of the first survey is to obtain an indication of Boophilus spp resistance against selected chemicals at their recommended field use on farms where farmers are complaining about blue tick control. These complaints are usually made to representatives of pharmaceutical companies who then collect ticks from animals on the farms. The results from the survey will be used for planning of resistance management control strategies for acaricides and to end speculation regarding the existence or absence of resistance in South Africa
