Grain yield stability of the corn cultivars in the Brazilian Middle-North in two agricultural years

During the 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 agricultural year, several corn varieties and hybrid were evaluated in different environmental conditions, in the Brazil Middle-North. The objective of this work was to stimate adaptability and stability parameters for recommendation ends. Two experimental nets were used, one with 27 cultivars (20 varieties and seven hybrid) and another with 27 hybrid. The hybrids showed better adaptation than the varieties, among them, demonstrated better adaptation to the wide adaptability like BRS 3060, BRS 3150, DAS 8480, DAS 657, Pioneer 3021, constituted in important alternatives for the more technified regionaol agriculture. The varieties of better adaptation and wide evidenced adaptability justified to its recommendations for the different prevalent production systems in the Region, mainly to family agriculture.
