Notas preliminares sobre el barrenador de los brotes terminales del pino, Rhyacionia frustrana (Lepidoptera; Tortricidae) en Costa Rica

Young plantations of pine species, Pinus caribaea var, hondurensis, P. oocarpa, P elliotti, P. canariensis P kesiya and P. radiata, have been found sererely attacked by the tortricid, Rhyacionia frustrana Comstock in Turrialba, Costa Rica Height mortality of larvas has been found after aplications of Dimethoate (1 cc/L perfection 40% LE) Natural biological control also has been observed both in larvas and pupae. Some recommendations on pine plantation management under tropical conditions, are given.
