Marlierea (Myrtaceae), a new genus for Central America
A botanical description is given of Marlierea mesoamericana sp. nov., a tree up to 25 m tall, based on specimens from Heredia and Alajuela, Costa Rica. Distribution, habitat and botanical characteristics and affinities are described briefly.
