Capacidad de innovación de las familias productoras y las organizaciones, para reducir el uso externo de plaguicidas en las hortalizas del Trifinio, Centroamérica

In the Central American highlands located in Trifinio, specialists from CATIE and collaborating organizations applied RAAKS (rapid appraisal of agricultural knowledge system) to analyze the issue of extreme use of pesticides in vegetable crops. Multi-sectorial strategies and actions for reduction of pesticides were discussed with a range of stakeholders. The conclusion was that it is necessary to incorporate new actors into the existing networks to bring about the desired changes by improving the quality of information and kanowledge needed in the learning and innovation process. Clean vegetable production system will in the end contribute to better quality of life.
