The consultancy in Suriname for diseases in oil palms and coconuts

The Bud Rot/Little Leaf disease of the oil palm, Elaeis guineensis, is shown to be caused by a bacterium of the genus Erwinia, similar to E,. lathyri. (Manns and Taubenhaus) Holland. The bacterium is only capable of attacking palms in a weakened condition. Vigorous palms are not susceptible. It has not been possible to elucidate all the factors which may render a palm susceptible, but some indications are considered
