Nemátodos fitoparásitos asociados al cultivo de pejibaye (Bactris gasipaes Kunth). Identificacao dos nematóides fitoparasitas, asociados ao cultivo da pupunha para palmito

Determination of plant-parasitic nematodes associated with peach palm used to produce heart of palm (Bactris gasipaes K.) in Heredia province, Costa Rica. The population of plant-parasitic nematodes associated with peach palm heart of palm in Heredia province is analyzed in 135 roots and soil samples. The genera most frequently found in roots were Helicotylenchus spp., Aphelenchoides spp., Bastria sp. and Pratylenchus sp.; these were present in 100, 49, 39 and 16 per cent of all root samples, in that order. Other genera that were found less frequently in roots were Criconemella spp., Tylenchus sp., Xiphinema spp., Meloidogyne sp. and Dolichodorus spp., which were present in 9, 5, 3, 2 and 0.7 per cent of the samples. The genera most frequently found in soil were Helicotylenchus spp., Basiria sp., Criconemella spp., Xiphinema spp., and Aphelenchoides spp., which were present in 100, 61, 45, 27 and 10 per cent of the soil samples. Other genera that were less frequently found in soil were Tylenchus sp., Pratylenchus sp., Dolichodorus spp., Tylenchulus sp., Longidorus sp., Discocriconemella spp. and Paratylenchus sp., these were present in 8, 7, 7, 2, 2, 1 and 0.7 percent of the samples.
