Aplicación de SIG (Sistemas de Información Geográfica) para la toma de decisiones

The ability to overlay data sets in a Geographical Information System (GIS) is a very attractive for many different kinds of research and applications in resource management. Unfortunately, the use of GIS is often limited by the high training investment required to derive its benefits. The development of object oriented programming provides an opportunity to reduce training requirements, and improve the utility of GIS by packaging together powerful, focused functions in programs with simple user interfaces. This approach requires high investment at the initiation of the GIS, but is more generally characterized by low costs of operation.
