Economic and institutional analysis of soil conservation at the farm level in Coclé, Panama

Despite the imnportance of the problem, soil management and conservation projects have not been analyzed technically, institutionaly, or economically to understand their implications for individual farms and for the environment. The principal objective of this chapter is to carry out economic and institutional analysis at the farm level of the Agroforestry Project for Community Development, a soil conservation project that operated in the central province of Coclé. This study is a preliminary exploration and should be complemented with other, more detailed studies.
