Amphibian Fauna of the Department of Cauca
We present in a summarized and updated way, the composition and distribution of the AMPHIBIA family of the Department of Cauca, corresponding to the three living orders: Anura (frogs and toads) 6 families, 20 genera, 111 species, Apoda or Gymnophyona (caecilians or tatacoas), 3 families, 4 genera, 6 species, Caudata (salamanders), 1 family, 2 genera, 3 species, for a total of 120 species equivalent to 23% of the species recorded for Colombia; here we only give a preliminary overview since it is worth noting the need to advance intense and detailed field work in areas still little studied or totally unknown in the exceptional ecology of Cauca.
