Seven ideas for enhancing public policy based on the case of the ARVAC vaccine

This article provides a synthesis of the Argentine experience in the development of the ARVAC Cecilia Grierson vaccine as a response to COVID-19. Its development brings together unique elements that make it an interesting case study for assessing the strengths, weaknesses and challenges of Argentina's science, technology and innovation system. From its analysis, seven lessons that could enrich the debate on how to recover the role that science and technology should play in the development of our country emerge.

Este artículo busca brindar una síntesis de la experiencia argentina en el desarrollo de la vacuna ARVAC Cecilia Grierson como respuesta a la COVID-19. Su desarrollo reúne elementos singulares que permiten elaborar un interesante caso de estudio para valorar las fortalezas, las debilidades y los desafíos del sistema de ciencia, tecnología e innovación de la Argentina. A partir de su análisis surgensiete aprendizajes que podrían enriquecer el debate sobre cómo recuperar el papel que la ciencia y la tecnología deben tener en el desarrollo de nuestro país. Este artigo busca fornecer uma síntese da experiência argentina no desenvolvimento da vacina ARVAC Cecilia Grierson como resposta à COVID-19. Seu desenvolvimento reúne elementos únicos que o tornam um estudo de caso interessante para avaliar os pontos fortes, os pontos fracos e os desafios do sistema de ciência, tecnologia e inovação da Argentina.
