Headlines (00:00-00:15) 2. Confusion surrounds the rate of the increasing number of Haitian refugees captured by the US Coast Guard in the wake of the Haitian coup in September. Hugh Crosskill reports that the US is planning to send most of the Haitians back home, a move which is not supported by US Democratic Congressman, Charles Rangel who calls the US action vicious and racist. Similarly, Bill O’Neill, Director of the Refugee Project at the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, states that the move by the US is a violation of human rights laws (00:16-05:21) 3. The Elections Commission in Guyana announced its approval of the list of candidates for the December 16th elections. Sharief Khan reports that there is still some doubt over the polls taking place as scheduled. Comments from Rudy Collins, Chairman of the Elections Commission (05:22-07:52) 4. According to the latest opinion poll, Trinidad and Tobago’s ruling National Alliance for Reconstruction surged ahead of the opposition parties. Dr. Selwyn Ryan conducted the poll and found the NAR is favoured to win the elections by 33% of the respondents. Tony Fraser reports with comments from Prime Minister A.N.R. Robinson and Patrick Manning of the People’s National Movement. There are also speculations that the Prime Minister may announce the date of elections tonight (07:53-11:12) 5. A dramatic downturn in the Barbados' economy prompted local investors to seek outlets elsewhere in the region through cross border trading, whilst Trinidad and Jamaica are looking towards the Barbados market. Comments from Tony Johnson, General Manager of Barbados Stock Exchange (11:13-13:39) 6. The British Jamaican-born boxer, Chris Eubank announces his resumption to boxing after his last fight with Michael Watson who sustained serious injuries (13:40-13:56) 7.
