That original building was destroyed in 1903 during the water riots. Construction on the new building on the same site began in 1904 and was opened to the public on February 4th, 1907. The building here is decorated with a red, white and black banner. This is traditionally done to public buildings in Trinidad and Tobago around Independence time. Postcard number C8648. Funding for this project has been provided by Mrs. Irma E. Goldstraw. 2009-03-27T13:51:26Z 2009-03-27T13:51:26Z 2009-03-27T13:51:26Z Image http://hdl.handle.net/2139/4170 en Please contact the Main Library, The University of the West Indies for permission to use the digitized images. wimail@sta.uwi.edu application/pdf Mike Roberts Color Production
