De multifunctionele zuiveringssloot : Water en biodiversiteit op een melkveebedrijf: slootzuivering, biodiversiteit en waterberging in de multifunctionele sloot
The multifunctional ditch (M-ditch) at dairy farm ‘Die Barle Farms’ in Zoeterwoude is a two-year pilot project within Groene Cirkels. This project aims to filter the rinse water used to clean the milking machine every day through a helophyte filter in combination with calcium carbonate granules. If the quality is an improvement for the surrounding storage water, it is possible to discharge this filtered rinse water into the storage water. It was also examined whether the M-ditch can contribute to local biodiversity.
