As a result of environmental objections to existing cultivation methods, research is being carried out at four trial locations into more sustainable farming systems. The Development of Farming Systems (DFS) for the South-East area is being carried out by the PAGV in cooperation with regional research centre in Meterik. In Meterik is choosen for three systems: 2,3 and 4 with a rotation in system 2, a 1 to 4 rotation in system 3 and a 1 to 6 rotation in system 4
